Notting Hoole.

Notting Hoole.

About the Project

Notting Hoole is a self-described "group of volunteers who want to put Hoole on the map!" They are the team behind the Notting Hoole Festival, numerous community BBQ's and fundraising for Hoole Christmas Lights.

Sue from the group approached us for a website as she was keen to use a local business and to keep the work required within Hoole.

We designed the website around their existing branding and colour palette, ensuring that it was both easy to use for visitors and easy to update for the Notting Hoole team.

Using large hero images, the group are able to show off and rotate between images from their fantastic events, as well as edit every piece of text on the website.

The platform is built on our very own CMS and gives Notting Hoole the ability to update and maintain everything independently. We built specific modules to allow adding and updating of local businesses, galleries and events the group holds.

We developed a powerful social aggregator that pulls in tweets and Facebook posts, bundled together with events and gallery updates. Keep an eye out for our aggregator in the future...

On the front-end, local businesses and groups are completely filterable by categories specified in the CMS, allowing easy searching of what you're looking for.

No matter where you're accessing the site from we've made it look great. Ruth spent plenty of time making sure phone and tablet look just as good a desktop (and they do!)

We're super happy to have been able to help Notting Hoole out and we're looking forward to the next community event!

Services Used

The Notting Hoole website gave us a chance to develop some new modules for our CMS. Local groups and businesses being the biggest. Having complete control means the group can add and update as they come and go from Hoole. Not only does the website look great on desktop, it's totally responsive so works like a dream on your phone.
